Beavers also visited Hyndburn Community Fire Station, where after a short talk on fire safety, they were able to climb aboard the fire engines and see how everything worked.
Rebecca , one of our leaders dressed up in a firefighters outfit , including the breathing apparatus. She reckoned the breathing apparatus wasn't too heavy - she even thought she could run up a flight of stairs with it on!
Three of our newest Beavers were enrolled on board a fire engine.
Finally , Beavers visited Greenbank Police Station and were shown what happens when you dial 999.
They also looked around the cells , where several Beavers were breathalysed. Luckily nobody was over the limit!
Having been inside the cells , everyone agreed that they would not like to spend the night there. It was cold, uncomfortable and smelly.
To complete the Beaver Safety Badge, we did some simple role play, in which Beavers had to decide what to do if they were approached by a stranger or what to do if they saw a house on fire.
Beavers also completed picture sheet identifying dangers in the home and what could be done about them.
Knight Theme
Over the past few weeks, Beavers have been following a knight theme as part of the Scouting Join in Centenary.
Beavers have gone mad with the tin foil and glue and have created a wonderful selection of swords, shields, helmets and tabards.
Beavers paraded the flag before the Beaver king who judged the competitions to make sure there was no cheating!
Finally Beavers assembled around the Round Table where they enjoyed a delicious Knights Banquet of Giants Sausages with Dragons Blood and Chalices of fizzing juices.
Beavers dressed as knights again to take part in the St Georges Day Parade in Accrington on Sunday 22nd April 2007.
Beavers joined in the parade which was led by St George on his horse.

Beaver Scouts are boys and girls aged between six and eight years.
Beavers take part in lots of different activities like art and craft, cookery, painting, singing and acting.
Beavers also go on outings and have visitors to their colony. We have treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, sleepovers and can earn special Beaver Scout Badges to put on their uniforms.
Beavers like to play lots of different games, including with the parachute. Most of all Beavers like to have lots of fun.
Beavers wear a uniform of a turquoise sweatshirt and blue trousers. They also wear a necker to show which Scout group they belong to. All Saints Beavers wear a red and white necker.
All Saints Beavers meet on Tuesdays at All Saints School.
