New Beaver Colony & Experiment Badge

The demand for places at Beavers led us to the decision to open on a second evening to provide extra places for children wishing to join Beavers.

Pictured below are the new Beavers enjoying their first explosive experience of Beaver style experiments. We made slime (as pictured), an explosion when coke met mentos, vinegar volcanoes and many more besides.

A fantastic first night, enjoyed by all including the leaders and the Beavers even earned their first badge, which was of course the Experiment Badge.

Beaver Challenge Day - Water Slide

The highlight of the day for Beavers had to be the water slide.

 

 As you will see from the children's face, they were thrilled to bits flying down the water slide on inflatable boats!

Some went faster than others.

 Some got wetter than others!

But everyone without exception was beaming from ear to ear!

Silver Beaver was waving the hosepipe around trying to get the Beavers wet!

Beavers had a whale of a time on the water slide , as you can see from the videos!

Beaver Challenge Day Akeema Shield July 2011

100 Beavers from across Hyndburn District took part in a Beaver Challenge Day at Bowley Scout Camp in July 2011.

The first part of the day was the Akeema Shield which is a mini olympic Competition for Beavers.

Beavers completed about 8 different bases including the egg and spoon relay, box and broom relay, tin can alley, penalty shoot out and dress up sack race to name but a few.

 

 Beavers had lots of fun trying to keep hold of the box between two broom handles, while racing to the cone and back.

The winning team were All Saints and Beavers were presented with a shield which we keep for a year.
