Beavers visited Accrington Fire Station in November 2011 for a behind
the scenes tour.
Beavers were able to climb aboard the engines and have a look inside.
The fireman were really good at explaining to the Beavers what happened when there was a fire and showed them lots of equipment which was kept on the engines such as cutting equipment which could cut through a car if people were trapped inside.
The firemen made a special call to the operations centre and a message came back saying that there was a fire at All Saints Beavers. Fortunately it was only to show Beavers what happens when a 999 call is made and there was no fire at All Saints.
There were 4 engines in the fire station when we visited including one which is a lift used for rescuing people from high buildings.
Beavers were also given the task of knocking over a traffic cone with a high pressure hose. It was great fun, but only one Beaver managed to knock the cone down.
