Hyndburn District Beavers Visit to Blackpool Tower

On Saturday 15th December , over 100 Beavers from all over the Hyndburn area took part in the District trip to Blackpool Tower to celebrate 100 years of Scouting.

What a fantastic day we all had, from the excitement of going to the top of the tower and walking across the glass floor to laughing our socks off at the fabulous circus pantomime, Cinderella.

Some Beavers were brave enough to lie on the glass floor at the top of the tower and look down , but the leaders were a bit more cowardly and held onto the hand rails!

How we all laughed at Buttons aka Mooky the Clown , especially when he picked out our own Grey Beaver and complimented him on his Scout tie!

Beavers enjoyed the 3D cinema experience, the Jurassic walk where they saw loads of scary dinosaurs. The one below had spotted a scout in a tent and thought it would make a nice snack. We also saw a huge hairy wooly mammoth.

Beavers were able to look around the aquarium where they saw loads of unusual fish incuding "Nemo" and "Dory" from "Finding Nemo" and some huge electric eels.

Beavers even met Father Christmas and were invited to whisper to him what they would like to receive for Christmas.

Everyone who took part in the trip received a lovely badge to commemorate the Hyndburn District Beaver trip to Blackpool Tower Circus in the Centenary Year.

This badge can be worn on the left sleeve of the uniform until further notice.

Circus Theme Night

Beavers recently took part in a Circus Theme Night.

The Beavers dressed in lots of colourful clothes, hats and odd socks and had their faces painted as clowns.

They tried out lots of different circus skills including spinning plates, juggling balls and diablo's. They all had a try at everything and showed off their skills in the circus ring at the end of the evening.

We also did some balloon modelling, which is a lot harder than it looked. Lots got popped as we tried to make them into weird and wonderful shapes, but we eventually managed to get them looking like swords and dogs.

Beavers also played some of circus themed games including circus corners and circus picture relay.
